Pottery Signatures

Shawnee Pottery

Shawnee Pottery did not have a lot of different signatures and marks on their pottery. For the most part they used only a few different ones and then the marks were well defined in most cases exception being some worn molds produced some hard to read marks. Most of the figurines and cheaper pieces that were sold in dime stores and other cheaper venues were not marked but Shawnee had a glaze and certain colors that could not be mistaken. Marks included embossed, incised and stickers.
